Keeping Up with the Dogs

This particular assignment I found more challenging than the others since I rarely have worked with presets and Illustrator files in Adobe After Effects. I started with the basic measures that I was familiar with to start my process. I imported the dog logo that was provided by the professor.

After I placed the logo on the composition, I created vectors from the layers and put them on the timeline to edit. Since the background and logo were black, I needed to add a shape layer that was of a different color, so the logo could be seen easily, which is why I chose white for contrast purposes.

I experimented with each layer and placed different presets on them, while simultaneously adding multiple keyframes for simple transitions into these motion transformations. I added a background preset to cover the white background and change the color of the vectors to a light red instead of black and white.

Finally, I incorporated tv glitch and tile motion presets to finalize the practice video. It came out fairly well, I even managed to loop it a few more times for the viewer to enjoy it again and again. I exported the file as a Vimeo 1080p quality file with Adobe Media Encoder for final submission.

I am pretty proud of my use of the presets provided and am excited to produce my own presets and works of motion of After Effects in the future.
